Welcome to the 2nd Annual Carolina Sweepers Banquet

The banquet will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011 from 5:30 pm – 10:30 pm. We will have food, raffles, goodie bags, great conversation and lots of prizes, including a Calloway golf bag, 19″ LCD TV, Garmin GPS, Kodak Mini Camcorder and a Coby 7″ Portable DVD Player.

We have sweepers coming in from NC, SC, TN, GA, MD, NJ, WV, IL, VA and UT

The banquet is about having fun and meeting new sweepers. There is no specific dress code. Just be comfortable. Whatever clothing will allow you to be comfortable is what you should wear.

Since the banquet is now an annual event, we wanted to start an annual tradition. Nothing major, just something fun for a few laughs. This will be an annual and OPTIONAL contest to see who has won the WORST prize in the past year.

We all love to hear about wonderful trips and boatloads of cash. This will give us a chance to laugh at the “gong show” side of sweeping. The winner of the worst prize contest, in addition to having everyone’s sympathy, will have the highly coveted honor of being the keeper of the Carolina Sweepers Banquet Mascot for one year. : )

To give you an example of what we’re looking for, at the meet and greet for the national convention, people were trading stories of their less than desirable prizes. One woman received a beach umbrella. Not a horrible prize, unless you live in Alaska, like she did. Another example is someone who received a Chapstick holder. No Chapstick. Just the holder. See what I mean?

Here is the breakdown.

* You must bring the prize with you to the banquet.
* You must be willing to donate the prize to the banquet.
* If you win, you must be willing to bring back (or ship back) the mascot for next years winner.
* Cents off coupons and music downloads are excluded.
* One entry per person.
* The prize must have been won after July 31, 2010.
